Hi friends, here comes tutsfriend with tutorial for the weekend. In this tutorial we are going to see how to create a cute monkey in 5 easy steps in Illustrator. It may sound very easy but the main motive of this tutorial is to teach the drawing techniques using simple shapes and not something tough using pen tool and other options. Because once we are strong with the basics then we can go to any levels in and software. Ok, now let us go into the tutorial.

Step 1: Open a new document of size 500 px X 500 px

Step 2: Take the ellipse tool and draw an ellipse like this.

Step 3: Then take further more copies of that ellipse and place them one by one as shown in following images

Step 4: Gradient for face and outer circles of ears of monkey.
Face: Radial gradient – #FCEF46 and #BE9F2F
Mouth: Radial gradient – #F7911E and #BE9F2F

Step 5: Then add a grey background and add dropshadow to the monkey.
